We hebben een voorspoedige reis gehad en hadden mooi weer. Het vroor er al ‘s nachts al wel een graad of 5, maar overdag was er vaak een prachtig blauwe lucht. Dan lijkt alles ook wat mooier, wat daar wel nodig is!

Er word wel veel aan de wegen verbeterd, maar het is nog lang niet klaar! Door het nieuwe belasting systeem in Polen zijn de kosten voor een transport naar Letland flink duurder geworden .

De goederen waren zeer welkom en na terug komst had ik gelijk al een mail van Lolita. Ze was dat ze al druk kleding aan het uitzoeken en passen met de kinderen.

Ook in Laubere zijn de hulpgoederen nog steeds erg nodig! We hadden al zo’n 45 kuub aan kleding, wat het afgelopen half jaar binnen is gebracht. Een kelding inzamelaktie was dan ook niet nodig. Ook de trainersjassen en sportkleding van Wijhe 92 kwam, zo voor de winter, erg goed van pas. De afgelopen winter lag er veel sneeuw en heeft het er 30 graden gevroren. Met deze temperaturen kun je wel wat warme kleding gebruiken.

De rest van de vracht bestond uit incontinentie materiaal, verband, speelgoed en klein meubilair .

Ook hebben we, voor het voorgenomen bezoek in juni volgend jaar, het werk opgenomen met Arijs en Lolita. Er is werk genoeg!

Namens Arijs en Lolita moest ik alle gevers hartelijk bedanken. Ook denken ze met veel
plezier terug aan het bezoek afgelopen zomer en moest ik een hartelijke groet overbrengen aan alle gastgezinnen en ze nogmaals bedanken. Dus bij deze, bedankt!

It was a unique opportunity to get to know people, nature, traditions, learn get into another environment, to communicate in another language. It has been said so many good words, now want to introduce you to children’s personal impressions.

This trip changed me a lot. Thanks to everyone who gave me the opportunity to see what is happening in other countries. Thanks to families who were willing to accept us. I wanted to stay longer, because it was so beautiful. When we left this country, I cried, but I hope ever will come back to this beautiful land. Thank you all!

I was surprised that people have gathered so much money to make us pleasure. Thank them for it! If I ever have the opportunity to travel to the Netherlands, I will use. Thank you!

In Holland and got to know people’s way of life. I enjoyed all  the place, which we have visited. Every house was so clean; we have seen so many beautiful flower beds and trees. I am very thankful to my family.

I was in Holland for the third time. It was a dream, now we have returned into reality. I am proud of our dancers who represented the Latvian word in Raalte festival, so I say thank you to all the people who made ​​it possible to get this festival.

I was the second time in Wijhe. My priorities were folk dance festival, our host family Benny and Dinta, who were so nice to us  I won’t never forget the wonderful evening, as Benny took us in the carriage and went us for a drive.

At the first moment it was strange to live in a new family,. I was very suspicious and watched carefully what I have to do, not to make mistakes. I have understand we have to make a good life in our country ourselves, so we could help other too. The Dutch nation has showed us that with hard work it is possible to create a beautiful land and live well. The next time I will go to Holland, I will return   there with other knowledge and I will have learned English.

John’s thoughts I have written at the end, because I think it is important to us all. The only way we have say “thank you” is try to do the same in our country, to do something good in our lives, to help, to say a good word. Many of the children were abroad for the first time; this trip was a dream trip. Thank you very much to everyone who helped to realize this dream!
